The Beginning: CiTi was established as an NPC to build and energise an inclusive digital economy in Cape Tow
Shaping South Africa’s Future Tech Talent: CapaCiTi was established as part of CiTi, preparing young individuals for the tech sector. CapaCiTi has emerged as one of South Africa’s leading digital talent accelerators.
Launch of the Johannesburg Campus: CapaCiTi launched its Johannesburg campus, expanding access to digital skills training and careeer opportunities. The campus became a key hub for equipping young professionals with in-demand skills while strengthening industry partnerships to drive employment and innovation.
CiTi rebrand to UVU Africa: UVUmbuzi – a Swahili word meaning to invent, discover, or reveal, captures the essence of innovation. The name UVU symbolises balance and transformation, aligning with our mission to drive progress through design, technology, and purpose. The shift from CiTi to UVU Africa marks a bold evolution toward a Pan-African vision: building inclusive, future-focused societies by empowering innovation, digital skills, and entrepeneurship across the continent.
A Bold Step into the Future: CAPACITI unveiled a fresh new identity, marking an exciting new chapter in its journey as South Africa’s leading digital talent accelerator. The refreshed bran identity represents a future-forward vision – one that embraces cutting-edge learning, strategic partnerships, and a mission to empower Africa’s next generation of tech talent.
CAPACITI Expands with New Hubs: CAPACITI expanded its reach with the launch of new hubs in Hazyview and Gqebrha, providing young talent wiht cuting-edge digital skills training. This exp ansion reinforces CAPACITI’s mission to foster inclusive digital transformation, bridging the skills gap and driving innovation across South Africa.
